Must.Write.This.Down.Before.I.Leave.For.Work....
1. Two nights ago I put Gabriel down to sleep and came back out to the living room. It is pretty common (at least with the latest tooth in the works) that he wakes up at least once before I get into bed. I know this because I can hear on the monitor that he wakes up, sits up, then starts to breathe faster in a panic just before starting to cry.
Well two nights ago I heard sheets rustling. Then nothing. Then a minute later I heard in a calm speaking voice - no screaming - , "Mama...........Mama?"
WOW! Do you know what this means!!! No need to panic because I totally understand that Mama is just outside the room and she will come in here if I need her!
I was very happy.
2. Last night.
HE SLEPT ALL NIGHT LONG. and didn't wake up. not even one time. In case you aren't getting what that means let me take it one step further. Last night. I slept all night long. and didn't wake up. not even one time. Me. I slept all night! For the second time in 14 months. (not that waking once is really such a problem for me, I get great sleep when teething isn't in the works.)
I am very happy!
The third breakthrough? Is the tooth. Now that it is here it has made the sleeping miracles possible.
(if only there weren't so many more teeth left still to come in. They disrupt things so terribly.
:-)
Okay now, off to work. The movers will be there early...heading out to my new office space today!

Woohoo! Well done Gabriel!
And I always say the biggest "design" flaw is that our babies are born with no teeth! :)
Oh, I am green with envy. I truly am. I don't see myself in that position any time soon (rather later, muuuuuuch later).
But I am happy for you. From all my heart. Congratulations. And well done, Gabriel!
Yay for the teeth and for the sleep breakthroughs, because, really, sleep is wonderful, and completely underrated by everyone except for moms...
Yawn.
SWEET FANCY MOSES, is that good news. Teeth are stupid. Why can't all 97 of the come in as a set, like s shark? One (really bad week, then over. We're just reaching the point here that Jackson can wake up and not scream bloody murder for me, but sit up and talk to himself for a while. And other than when a tooth is cutting through, sleeps until 4-5AM before getting up to eat. Winner winner chicken dinner!
Enjoy the new office! Get yourself a purdy potted plant or something.
Isn't it amazing to sleep all night long? I never really appreciated it before.
Ahhhhh! This is soo great! He's turning into such a big boy!
Great news about the sleeping. A human needs sleep to feel more, well, human. Way to go G! Also, good luck with your new job/boss!!
Congrats on the sleeping, congrats on the calmness and for your little guy realizing that Mama doesn't disappear when she leaves the room, and congrats on moving offices!
A friend forwarded me your blog post on co-sleeping, and I've been enjoying your pursuits ever since...we're leading parallel lives, only my little guy is 21 months old, so I will tell you it gets easier (though our Munchkin is still in our bed, so that's been my saving grace for getting sleep)! Just wanted to pipe in and express just how evil teeth can be...they truly were the root of all of our sleep problems and once we would finally make a breakthrough, another one of those boogers would come along and wreck things again! We've found ibuprofen to be a wonderful thing for those few rough nights when the tooth is actually breaking through...none of the teething tablets, etc. did a thing for us!
That's beautiful! Sleep, and the asking for mama!
We've used ibuprofen also, when the orajel doesn't do the trick. I always feel a little guilty for drugging them though. But then I think, if my teeth were hurting me so much that I couldn't sleep, I'd take some ibuprofen!
YAY!!!!!! Good for you guys!
E still wakes up crying hard if something is really wrong, but has gotten better and better at handling everything. It's all up from here! (in stages anyway. :)
Nice job Gabriel! Hurray for moving!
(Don't get too used to sleeping through the night at any point, though. My almost 5 year old still comes in at 2 am once in a while to tell me she has to go potty).
Woot! Gabriel is getting the memos. So nice to know you have had a good night of uninterrupted sleep.
Congratulations on the job improvements and new office. Yay!
Well, YAY for sleep! I really think things will start to get easier for you guys as he gets older.
