And not a drop to drink.
That's how I'm feeling about my job search right now. There are literally hundreds of jobs out there I could apply for, at least 10, 15, 20 I would actually like, but probably only 2 or 3 that I have the experience for that will pay what I am currently making (and need to survive considering I am winning the bread and all that) AND that I would actually like.
I finished up my final round of interviews for the latest and greatest dream job I really really want last Monday. Now I'm waiting. It I know it seems all drama drama and everything but it's so '2WW-ish', because one minute I'm all, 'it went so well, I'm sure I'll get the job'. And the next minute I'm all, 'I didn't get it they hated me my life is over'.
It will be what it will be. Meanwhile I applied for a couple more jobs. Plus one in Italy. Because you never know.
Gabriel continues to be the joy that holds me together. But my mind is a little work focused at the moment.
Things he's doing that are super cute.
Words(ish):
Water: "Wahdah"
Eye: "Ahhhh"
Moo, Cow, Elephant: "Mmmmmmmmhhhhh"
Me, My Husband: "Mama" <--because we are an equal opportunity household.
Sandal: "Sada"
Milk: "Makalakalaka"
Thunderstorm: "Dunahdo-ah"
Fire Truck: "Di-ah Duh"
Door: "Do-ah"
Jack: "Dat"
Some words don't seem like much--but it's amazing to me when it is a consistent working out of the sounds. Thunderstorm has been pretty consistent with every storm we've had in the last two weeks. It's really interesting seeing him make out the pitch and sounds even if he can't quite reaaaallly make the words.
And he's always 'talking' babbling, making the oddest little sounds and 'words'--like his own little language. We just tell my family he's speaking Italian. So they think he's already talking fluently. ;-)
Dancing:
Oh I have the best movie of him dancing. But alas, it is on my phone. And it is too big a file to e-mail. And I am too lazy to remove the memory card and download it here. Maybe one day. Soon. His dancing makes my heart skip a beat. Such a happy kid.
Singing:
Sometimes he just sings. Humming. Making sounds. But it's definite singing and I love it. Sometimes I can tell he's singing "Itsy Bitsy Spider" because he'll make the same hand gestures he makes during that part (where he pretty much 'washes the spider out' over and over again.)
He also likes to sing 'Elmo's Song'...and when it comes on he just says, "Lalalalalalalalala". *swoon*
Kisses:
Tonight I was laying with him while he was falling asleep. He sat up. Smiled at me. Leaned over. Gave me a big old mouth kiss. Then laid down next to me. So sweet. So stinking sweet. *swoon again* After that he hit me in the face and then bit my arm. <--keeping it real.
Just Being A Smarty-Pants:
Tonight he opened the latch on our child gate. So much for that.
Sleeping:
We're sleeping okay. Still mattressing it. Waking more with teeth cutting. Diluting the milk with water little by little...thanks for that advice!
Off to continue the search.

You should move to Australia! I'm sure with all your specialised skills you'd make a killing over here!
I cant believe you only get 2 weeks of paid vaction time a year, we get 4 over here!
He's adorable.
I hope you get your dream job - it will make life so much easier if you don't have work stress. I'm sure they loved you!
I can't believe everyone isn't demanding you to be their employee! They are straight crazy if they don't recognize your awesomeness! I hope you find the right job soon, I know your current work situation blows. You gotta love being the winner of the bread...Gabriel continue to be cuter & cuter. I'm glad he is providing some distraction!

Hang in there!! The best job will come through. I know it will. I swear Gabriel is so cute!!!!
Elizabeth did the gate opening at about that age. I had to take that gate down completely. Luckily, the one we have on the stairs is still Elizabeth-proof.
i hate looking for jobs. it always seems like you're either over- or under-qualified for stuff.
but italy?? how awesome would that be? i've been watching too many house hunters internationals though, i think! :)
g is uber cute. i love when they're this age and they can convey that they love you with little kisses. (and bites!)
Good luck with the job...I sure hope you get the dream one. I wish I could change jobs...but I make too much and do too little right now...so although it is pretty easy...it is not a good fit but like you....I'm bringing home the bacon (well...1/2 of it anyway)...so we need it to survive.
I melted when you talked about the itsy bitsy spider song...that was my son's first favorite song too and his hand motion was the spider going up the spout....soooo sooo cute. Kisses followed by biting...yup..seems about right... :).
Love all the updates on your super cute kid!!!!
